Fern Canyon with The Burke's

One of my favorite things about being up in the Pacific Northwest is all he outdoorsy things there are to do.  I absolutely love hiking and exploring trails!  Our friends Josh and Desiree Burke asked us if we wanted to go hiking at Fern Canyon one afternoon with their family, and we couldn't pass it up.  We loaded up the boys and made the hour drive, but once we arrived, we realized there were more streams to cross then Chris last remembered.  Neither of us wore the proper shoes for trekking through so much water, so we didn't go too far into the canyon.  It was still worth the trip though.  One of my favorite parts of the day is the herd of elk we saw on the way back to the highway.  We stopped about 30 yards from them, and even when the boys started going crazy, they didn't spook at all.
